2009 - Best of Shows The numbers are just in and it is official – this year’s ninth annual Arts at the Gardens fine art show and sale was the most successful yet. Thanks to the combined efforts of 100 talented artists, 34 generous sponsors, 183 exceptional volunteers and 24 dedicated committee members, this year’s event raised $42,000 for the education and preservation fund at Sonnenberg Gardens and Mansion State Historic Park. This is a 29% increase over last year’s proceeds, quite a feat in these hard economic times. Over 5,000 people visited this year’s show.

Honoring The 2009 Ronald L. Bittner $1000 Budding Artist Scholarship Winner and Finalists
WINNER:
Daniel Biegler...senior at Syracuse University. He states that the formal study of art is very new to him. He studied math and science prior to transferring to Syracuse last fall.
FINALISTS:
Jolene Beckman ...a Master of Fine Arts student at the University at Buffalo.
Rick Bowen ...starting his third year at the University at Buffalo.
Erich Montfort ...a senior enrolled at SUNY Brockport.

About Arts at the Gardens... this 2-day juried fine art show and sale is held on the grounds of Sonnenberg Gardens & Mansion State Historic Park, in Canandaigua, NY. The 10th anniversary event will be held rain or shine from 10 am until 5 pm on August 21-22, 2010.
Arts at the Gardens features paintings, prints, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, glass, woodwork, photography, and other fine art created by 100 talented artists chosen from a large pool of applicants from across the country. Admission includes a visit to the beautiful Sonnenberg Mansion and Gardens.
Also on tap is a Beer Garden featuring local ales from Rohrbach's and Custom BrewCrafters. and live entertainment. Under the Wegman's Food Tent, visitors can find fare from Simply Crepes and the Kiwanis/Rotary Grille. Wine by the glass is available in the Wine Center and at the Mansion.
Win a piece of art from one of the exhibiting artists. Chances are for sale at the Raffle tent. Drawing is Sunday and you need not be present to win.
Arts at the Gardens has been ranked as one of the top rated Fine Art Shows in all of New York State. Arts at the Gardens has been featured on the Martha Stewart Living Radio Show and the Michael Warren Thomas Savor Life program.
